Founder Note

I have built systems for everything.

How I work. How I plan. How I eat, train, and think. I optimised my mornings, protected my calendar, and stripped friction from every area of my life that mattered.

I never built a system for recovery.

Not because I didn't know it mattered — I did. I'd read the research, understood the compounding cost of chronic fatigue, and genuinely believed I was managing it. I took breaks when I remembered to. I stretched when the pain reminded me. I slept when I had nothing left.

I was disciplined in every direction except the one that mattered most.

Then I collapsed. Not metaphorically. Mentally and physically. The kind that doesn't announce itself until there's nothing left to draw from. The kind that takes weeks to arrive and months to recover from. The kind that, in hindsight, was entirely predictable.

What broke me wasn't a lack of willpower. It was a gap in my architecture.

I had treated recovery as a preference — something to return to when work allowed it. But work never allows it. That's not a personal failure. That's just how high-performance environments operate. The demand is always there. The urgency is always real. And the body is always the first thing quietly sacrificed.

When I started recovering, I did what I always do: I looked for a system. Something that would handle recovery the way I handled everything else — automatically, non-negotiably, without relying on me to remember or decide in the moment. It didn't exist. Every tool I found was a suggestion. A nudge. A reminder I could dismiss with a single keystroke.

    So I built The Pact.

Not as a wellness app. Not as a productivity tool. As an enforcement layer — because that's the only level where recovery can't be quietly deprioritised. And it doesn't just stop you. It locks the screen and actively runs the recovery for you, guiding you through every step until it's done.

If you're reading this, you're probably good at what you do. You've built discipline into most areas of your life. You're not lazy, and you're not reckless. You just haven't built a system for this yet.

    The Pact is that system.

It won't ask you to take a break. It will enforce one — because the version of you making decisions in the middle of a demanding workday is not the version of you that should be trusted with it.

I learned that the hard way. You don't have to.
